The demand today for “comfortable” office chairs continues to rise, as does the range of chairs now on offer in this category. Ergonomic back chairs, 24 hour office chairs, leather office recliners, massage chairs, mesh office chairs, I could go on. When looking to buy new office chairs, whether it's for a home office (yourself) or for other staff or employees in a large office, it's hard not to be overwhelmed by the amount of variety on offer - both in price AND quality. Styles and technology continue to bring new designs claiming to provide more comfort than the last great, cutting edge design.
With more and more people like office workers or computer technicians (or anyone with a laptop or desktop PC at home) now spending WAY too much time sat in front of a computer screen, it's become increasingly apparent that we all want, and need, to sit comfortably – especially if we're going to be sat still for the best part of our day at an office desk. Some people have back problems, stiffness and other health complaints to consider as well - some pains which are due to sitting at a desk in an unsuitable position, in an uncomfortable office chair for too long!
Personally, I use a posture kneeling stool (or ergonomic kneeling chair, if you prefer) which I find REALLY comfortable. I'm not very tall and I like to sit perched slightly forward on my chair, or stool, whilst using my laptop. The tilted design of the kneeling stool helps with that a lot. The wheels also let me slide around without leaving my seat. Having no chair arms or chair back also allows me more arm movement. Importantly, it also helps keep my back aligned and straight so if I spend 6, 10 or 16 hours on my kneeling stool in a day, I still feel okay.
Having, for example, a large, leather office recliner would not suit me (although, it does sound VERY comfy!) as I'd just want to either lie back and relax all day or I'd be perched on the seat's edge, so not even using all the comfortable leather upholstery behind my back. This type of office chair would better suit a person who works sat back in their seat but in a more upright position, perhaps holding meetings and interviews, or perhaps writing or drawing at a large office desk.
So your choice of comfortable office chair will be determined by you – how you work, what you work at, your physical condition, and how long you actually spend sat in your chair each day. With a growing number of people spending large chunks of their 24 hours a day both in or around their office chair and at home in front of a computer screen, the demand for comfort and the range of office chairs offering comfort and/or pain relief continues to increase.
We have a great selection of styles, colours, brands and suppliers for all kinds of “comfortable” office chairs, whether you want to find the latest massage office chairs or buy a large leather recliner for your home office. You'll also find a range of ergonomic mesh chairs, kneeling stools and executive office chairs that will help you find the right office chair for your particular wants and needs.
